GlossaryWhat is a script breakdown?

Definition. A script breakdown is a scene-by-scene list of everything the script needs: cast, props, wardrobe, vehicles, locations and effects. Producers use it to schedule the shoot and budget it, and each department reads its own part.

Is a breakdown the same as a schedule?

No. The breakdown lists what each scene needs, and the schedule arranges the scenes into days using that list.
