GlossaryWhat is a daily production report?

Definition. A daily production report is filled in after each shoot day. It records the first shot, lunch and wrap times, the scenes completed, and any delays or incidents, so producers know how the real day compared with the plan.

The Spring Pro reports overview, including the daily production report

Updated 2026-10-12. Every screen is Spring Pro running Midnight Diner, our demo production.

What it is for

It is the record. If a day runs over, the report says why, and that is what the producer and the financier read. It also tells you whether the schedule you built is the schedule you are living.

In the software

In Spring Pro the report is saved on the shoot day and feeds the cost of the day: a wrapped day turns planned hours into actual hours, including overtime. Midnight Diner costs $192,446 so far.

Questions

Who fills in the daily production report?
